But what are they used for?

In many cases glazing packers, glass packers or packers for windows are needed in the window construction as the names imply. The rust-proof and rot-proof plastic parts are also used for aligning ceilings, floors, window sills, terraces, furniture and wherever irregularities need to be levelled. We manufacture our packers in PP (Polypropylene) which is suitable for a range of temperature from -40° to +100° Celsius. They are very impact-proof and they can’t break even when they are extremely bended!

Our glazing packers are extremely impact-resistant and do not break even with extreme bends!

Our glazing packers are made of a special PP (polypropylene), which is suitable for a temperature range of -40 to +100 degrees Celsius. They are extremely impact-resistant and do not break even with extreme bends!

Why are they needed in window construction?

A window has to be airtight, it has to block humidity and to reduce noise, it mustn’t allow to supply wind and it should maintain an equal room temperature. The window glass has to fit into the frame in order to ensure the above mentioned matters. Heat and cold affect the window glass and above all the window frame. They expend with heat and the contract with cold. Mechanical tension occurs that can result in cracks in the glass. The packers cause cavities between window frames and window panes avoiding cracks in the glass.

The plastic blocks are glazed between the window frame and the window glass. The make sure that the window pane is kept intact in the frame and they prevent contact between the frame and the window panel.

One important aspect here is that the glazing packers are compatible with bulking agents in the edge compound of the windows. If the blocks for example contain styrol or bulking agents in large quantities, it might come to a so-called “softener migration” causing a blinding of the glass panes.

You can download here a certificate of the compatibility of our blocks with the edge compound.

As a manufacturer of glazing packers we verify our production on a random basic by a forklift truck. This means that a forklift truck with a weight of 5 tons drives over the blocks. Only when they withstand the pressure they can be passed on for production. Indeed, they have to withstand the weight of heavy glass panels on its frames.

The intelligent arrangement of the bar on the upper side significantly contributes to more stability and the small grooves with its cavities on the bottom ensure optimal load distribution. Moreover excess sealant can spread out in the grooves.
